Surat (Gujarat) [India], November 29: The meeting of the Surat Pre-School Association (SUPSA) was successfully held, where members warmly welcomed the Gujarat Government’s recent simplification of pre-school registration rules, especially keeping in mind the interests of women educators. On behalf of thousands of educator sisters across Gujarat, SUPSA expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and hoped that similar positive support will continue for the pre-school sector, which provides employment to lakhs of people.
SUPSA had raised this issue in 2023, and with the united support of pre-school operators across Gujarat, this major policy change became possible. Such large-scale amendments and simplifications in regulations have been rare in the history of Gujarat.
During the event, Dr. Swati Vinchulkar advised parents to consider their children’s health and daily needs and prefer admission to nearby independent pre-schools. Child experts Dr. Bhavna Raja, Nidhi Agrawal, Dr. Deepak Rajyaguru, and Yashvi Jain appreciated the significant contribution of pre-schools to society.
The Surat Pre-School Association regularly organizes various programs and training sessions for the benefit of its members and the advancement of early childhood education.
SUPSA has also appealed to the Gujarat Government and the Education Ministry to extend the pre-school registration deadline to 31 March 2026, as so far only about 5,000 pre-schools across Gujarat have applied.
